Roman copper alloy strap fitting
Strap fitting from a horse harness. Either a strap end, or perhaps more likely since there is trace of an opening on the free end, a strap fastener with a fixed loop. Whatever its function, the fitting is of the spectacle type and has a fixed rear plate cast in one with the piece; compare for example the hooked strap fastener from Hofheim.
