Mug, or ale pot of grey stoneware, standing on a restored pie-crust moulded foot; squat, globular body, cordoned at shoulder, tapering above thisthen rising in a straight sided cylindrical lightly rilled neck, the neck with extensive plaster restoration; strap handle; the whole with a thin iron-brown wash and a light clear salt-glaze, the grey body appearing from beneath the colouration in many areas.
