Heavy cotton khaki brown overalls and cap worn by a woman working in a munitions factory in England. Location and wearer unknown. Made of cotton twill, all machine-stitched.
The top has 'Alice' collar (stitched down), which is finished with narrow piping of red bias tape. It has three black-lacquered metal button fastening down the centre-front, a belt with two metal buttons and one button at each cuff. Belt is stitch-secured to centre-back waist. Here is a patch pocket on lower right front. The cap has eleven pleats to gather the fabric into the edge surrounding the face. At that point, a 11cm wide turn-back is joined onto the cap. The edge of this turn-back is also finished with red bias tape. Lower edge of cap has a white cotton drawstring which can be adjusted at inner centre-back. The trousers have a very wide waist with a white cotton drawstring.
