Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
Mount cast with hollow boss in the form of a human head; a single, integral, pointed shank is set close to the top edge. The head, with curly locks and Phrygian bonnet, probably portrays Attis, who frequently figures on both military and domestic attachments. Dr Mark Lewis, in his article 'A Trojan Horse at Caerleon' in Arma (Spring 2016) suggests that the figure is actually a Trojan, possibly even Aeneas himself.
