HMS Wolfhound, glass negative

Morrey Salmon, Harry (Colonel)

The International Ornithological Congress (IOC) leaving South Haven, Skokholm. The IOC had held their international scientific meeting in Oxford, with about 350 people from around the world attending. The week long Congress traditionally concluded with a 'long excursion', the British organizing committee chose Skokholm, the Pembrokeshire bird-island. The Navy provided two destroyers to travel between Tenby and Skokholm. Photograph of the IOC travelling from Skokholm on the HMS Windsor (left) and HMS Wolfhound (right). Photographed 8 July 1934.
