Figure of Highland Jessie and ?Corporal Brown, cream coloured earthenware, blue tinted crackle glaze, standing on a high long plinth with a waved front, and inscribed in gilt raised capitals. Figures well coloured, man on left in military uniform of black shoes, white trousers, underglaze blue coat, white sash acoss chest, white necktie, naturalistically painted face, black whiskers, and orange havelock hat, seated on a pink box, with legs crossed at knee, left arm resting on thigh, right arm bent upwards with right hand resting on the orange banded barrel of a rust coloured rifle, the rifle placed barrel upwards on a brown barrel banded in orange. Jessie Brown on right in black slippers, white stockings, full calf length skirt decorated with a small floral design and stripes in purple red and green, petticoat looped up under underglaze blue fitted bodice, standing with right foot forwards, with left arm outstretched with hand placed on top of man's hat, and with right arm bent upwards and holding a green orange fringed plaid in her right hand, one end dangling down beside her, the other brought over her head and over her left upper arm, two pink ?boxes on ground to her left, on them a large gilt banded ewer. Green/brown rocky ground.
