Dressing box, tin-plate, rectangular form with straight sides and hinged lid with fastening hasp, the interior of the box divided into three small compartments (one of which is divided into two again) and a larger compartment into which fits a lift-out tray itself divided into three different sized compartments; the interior and base of the box covered with a black japan, the rest of the box and the tray covered with a transparent crimson japan, the exterior of the box decorated in silver to which the varnish has given a golden tinge with lines and around the lid a scroll and cornflower border with small stars. Inside the dressing box fit the following items: Two lead glass bottles of rectangular form with short necks and stoppers. An oval tin-plate container with cover, covered with a transparent crimson japan.
