Aeroplane fragment
Framed fragment of a FE2B aeroplane named CHEERIO, cap badge, and medals awarded to Lieutenant John Henry Matthews of the Royal Flying Corps. John Henry Matthews was born in Canton, Cardiff, in 1891. His love of planes led him to join the Royal Flying Corps as a squadron pilot. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Medal in 1917.
