Vase, with cover
Vase, black basalt, now badly broken and in several pieces making it difficult to provide an accurate description, standing on a square base, spreading foot with narrow stem, ovoid body with flat top rising up into a candlestick-like sconce, to either side of the top are twin raised scrolled handles with foliate moulding at the terminals, small round high-domed cover with to the top a ball finial, decorated with around the base applied anthemions, around the body applied acanthus leaves and lilies with a border of roses around the upper body, applied leaves around the sconce and the top of the cover.
