Tea bowl and saucer

Doccia Porcelain Factory

Tea bowl, hard-paste porcelain, standing on a short cylindrical foot-rim, rounded curving sides flaring slightly at the lip-rim; finely painted in polychrome enamels with to either side of the exterior body a panel containing a seated female figure in a garden setting, the panels enclosed by elaborate rococo borders in gilt, red, and lilac, a gilt band around the foot-rim, a gilt edge to the lip-rim. Saucer, hard-paste porcelain, standing on a short cylindrical foot-rim, curving sides; finely painted in polychrome enamels with to the centre of the well a panel containing a seated female figure in a garden setting, the panel enclosed by an elaborate rococo border in gilt, red and lilac, a gilt edge to the rim. The rim chipped.
