Early Medieval human remains
These are poorly preserved remains from the inhumation burial of a young adult (17-25 years) who was probably male. His skulls is relataviely well preserved, however the rest of his skeleton is very poorly preserved and survives as disarticulated and unidentifiable fragments.
The burial is from Phase H: 772-1019 AD
They were buried in a supine position in a simple grave oriented Northwest-Southeast
His teeth showed evidence of dental enamel hypoplasia which presents as marks on teeth caused by periods of interrupted development during childhood. It can be caused by a range of trauma, disease and nutritional deficiencies during childhood.
