Pair of painted paper fans with black-lacquered bamboo sticks. Same pattern hand-painted onto both fans' paper leaves: blue flowers and long and narrow green leaves. .354 has a red shiny ground colour and .355 has a dark blue shiny ground colour. Paper leaf consists of 2 layers of paper adhered to front and back of sticks. Lacquered sticks and guards have printed floral decoration in metallic purple and silver print. Top edge of paper leaf (front and reverse) has 0.25cm wide line of silver paint and a 0.1cm wide line along the bottom. Reverse of paper leaf is pale pink (.354) / pale purple (.355) respectively along top, fading to white, decorated with speckles of silver leaf.
