Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
Saucer, soft-paste porcelain, circular shape with tapering foot-rim and curving spreading sides, to the sides of the well fluting rises up from a moulded scalloped panel to the centre of the well, the sides of the well then moulded with alternating large and small embossed rococo panels composed of narrow scrolling lines; delicately painted in puce, red, green, blue and yellow with the Chinese 'Stag hunt' pattern, the two larger panels to the sides of the well contain small Chinese-style scenes, one showing figures standing beneath trees by the side of a pagoda, the other showing a figure watching a dog chase a stag, the two smaller panels painted with flower heads and foliage, the central panel painted with a collection of rocks and plants, to the rim a formal border in puce of stylised spreading foliage interspersed with pendant motifs.
