Dillwyn & Co., Cambrian Pottery (1811 - 1817 and 1824 - 1850)
Plate, earthenware, circular shape with inset base, curving sides and spreading rim, raised edge to the well, eight notches and lobes to the rim; transfer-printed in black with to the centre of the well the 'Swiss Villa' pattern, an ornate gabled building by the side of a lake against a background of trees and mountains, the scene surrounded on three sides by a cartouche of rococo scrolls, flowers and foliage, border of bell-flowers to the outer rim.
