Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
The pin of the trumpet brooch is hinged. The pivot is housed in a cylindrical casing behind the trumpet-head and the wire of the head-loop is also accommodated in the casing. There is a small, broken projection at the top of the head which formed the stop. The head is plain with a narrow outer margin. The mouldings at the waist are half-round only. The button is flanked by a three-leaved acanthus moulding above and below and the whole is now badly abraded. The leg has a light, central ridging; narrow borders down the outer edges are defined by indented lines. The knobbed foot is now severely abraded so that its mouldings are obscured and the catchplate is largely lost.
