Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
A stone axe of a medium-grained basic igneous rock. The blade is gently curved, flaring to give a slight but distinctive flange at either side. The trunk is approximately cylindrical in outline, tapering to a rounded butt. In section it is oval with the blade ground or polished flat.
Site Name: Nab Head II, St Brides
Notes: Note that in the excavation seasons 1980, 1981 and 1982 the X axis was numbered alphabetically and the Y axis numerically. In 1986 this was reversed in error resulting in the X axis being numbered numerically and Y axis alphabetically. All the finds were marked during the excavation so are marked by grid square using the site system that was in place at the time. The 1986 finds coordinates have not been corrected.
