Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
CANVAS, embroidered with coloured wools in cross stitch. Eleven horizontal rows containing Gothic letters of the alphabet, followed by numerals to 10; alphabet in small Italic letters, followed by the name "GAND," (i.e. Ghent) the alphabet in Roman capitals, twice repeated, together with the date "1865"; the alphabet in Italic capitals, followed by Roman numerals to VIII (excluding V). At the bottom is the name "MARIE. GRENIER”, preceded by the figure 2 worked in red cotton. The alphabets and name are separated by narrow zig-zag and other stripes.
