The base ring bears the text: AN 3me FN, the FN standing for the Nevers Foundry, and the cannon was cast between 22 September 1794 to 16 September 1795. The ends of the trunnions bear the markings ‘N23’ and ‘P2315’, providing information on the size and weight of the cannon (Owen-Jones 1984).
