Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
Large steel handcuffs in the standard 'D' cuff design, with barrel locks. Key missing. Linked by a long chain. Each cuff is stamped FIELD & SONS 233 possibly originally followed by HOLBORN for the company's address but this has worn away. This inscription dates the handcuffs to the period 1842 - 1877. One cuff is stamped LONDON. Each cuff is also stamped with the number 3.
Formerly part of Gwent Police Museum collection
It is believed that Field & Sons, or Parker Field & Sons, may not have actually manufactured handcuffs but put their name, as vendors on those supplied by Hiatt of Birmingham
