Jug

Jug, earthenware, inset base within a flattened-off foot-rim, globular body, cylindrical neck, plain beak spout, loop handle with raised thumb-spur; the exterior of the jug and the interior neck and spout covered with a pinkish-beige coloured glaze, the exterior of the jug then covered with silver lustre and resist decorated, so that the pinkish-beige ground beneath is revealed, with around the body a pattern of foliate sprays interspersed with dots, around the shoulder and neck geometric borders of overlapping oval shapes between pinkish-beige bands, a pattern of pinkish-beige dots to the underside of the spout, a wide pinkish-beige band around the lower body, a pattern of stylized leaves and dots to the handle, a brown enamel band around the lip-rim and spout. The body cracked and repaired, the lip-rim chipped.
