Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
Up until the 1980s, police were responsible for stray dogs. The plaque was used to inform the next duty police officer or sergeant whether a prisoner or a dog was in custody.
Wooden plaque with two sliding squares to indicate whether a prisoner or a dog is in or out of the cells. PRISONER IN/OUT painted along the top. DOG IN/OUT painted along the bottom. Early/mid 20th century date.
