Port bows view of mud hopper ANSON making her way through Queen Alexandra Dock with assistance from tug ALFRED. She was leaving Cardiff for Sunderland where she was modified for use by the Electrolytic Zinc Co. of Australasia Ltd, to dump effluent from their Tasmanian zinc works to a point 55 miles out at sea. ANSON was sold surplus to requirements by British Transport Docks Board following replacement of bucket dredgers by modern grab and suction dredgers.
Mud hopper ANSON, 810 gross tons and completed in 1957 by Henry Scarr Ltd at the yard of Richard Dunston Ltd, Hessle (near Hull).
