Plate, Nantgarw, soft-paste porcelain, clear white translucency, lustrous glaze with pin holes to the underside; shallow foot, the rim moulded with six large and six small lobes and with the standard 'Nantgarw' moulding of C-scrolls, ribbon-tied foliage wreaths and florets; the centre painted in enamels with a kneeling naked putto, one finger extended to lip, purple feathered wing, within a yellow straw bonnet, lined with grey cloth and tied with turquoise ribbons which he holds in one hand, against a background of pink roses and foliage; the rim mouldings gilt between six panels of garden flowers on a stippled gilt ground.
