Medieval annular brooch made of pewter.
The brooch consists of a plain flattened wire circular frame set with 7 alternating flat lozenges (3 circular, 4 square) set at regular intervals. The front face of each lozenge has a cast floral design.
The brooch has been cast as a single piece, with the pin attached separately.
The pin tapers is lozenge-shaped in cross-section and tapers to a point at the end. The pin head consists of a flat circular disc with a cast floral design (same as the decorative lozenges on the frame). It is attached to the frame by a crudely formed loop adhering to the back of the head (formed by crimping together of two strips).
The circular pin head sits between two square lozenges to complete the alternating pattern.
