Aerial view of William Hancock & Co. Ltd., Cardiff.
Hancocks began brewing beer in Cardiff during the 1880s, after acquiring 8 breweries across South Wales. They also acquired 46 public houses in Cardiff and 31 in Newport. The company was bought in 1968 by the Bass Charrington Group and became Welsh Brewers. It would later become Bass Wales and was eventually sold to Brains & Co. Ltd. in the late 1990s.
