ss. BRITISH JUDGE (6735gt) : Built 1921 by Sir James Laing & Sons Ltd., Sunderland, for The British Tanker Co. Ltd. 1942 – She was attacked and damaged by aerial bombing on the 12th February 1942, south of Princes Island in the Dutch East Indies, and torpedoed on the 28th February while en route from Tandjong Priok, Java, to Australia, escorted by HMAS YARRA. Although badly damage, she made it to Ceylon, but was bombed again by Japanese planes on 5th April at Colombo Harbour while undergoing repairs. (from the COFEPOW website)
