Pepper-mill
Wellby, D. & J., Ltd (working 1896/7 to 1973/4)
Pepper-mill, baluster-form, standing on three flattened bun feet, spreading base engraved with a presentation inscription below beading, waisted body rising from bound reeded band, bearing in relief wreathed attributes of painting, sculpture and architecture, domed cover ornamented with laurel and a beaded finial, turning to grind pepper. It contains a steel grinding mill held in place with a bracket under the base.
