Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
Patchwork quilt made by Mrs Rachel Fowler of Blaenafon, about 1866. She was a well-known dressmaker who made gowns for Augusta Hall (Lady Llanover).
White cotton with appliqued design on front. Design consists of four large panels each consisting of four flowers and stems in the form of a cross at the centre of which is a floret. Between the stems are bird, twig and flower motifs. Corners have four converging hearts from which springs four other hearts at right angles. Decoration in applique are in light green, yellow and red on white background.
