S.S. SAMARK (7219gt). Launched 1943 as JOHN G. NORTH by Permanente Metals Corp., Richmond, California, but completed as SAMARK for lease-lend to MoWT (managed by Ellerman – Wilson Line, Hull). 1947 - Returned to US Maritime Commission, renamed JOHN G. NORTH, and laid up in the James River. She was broken up at Philadelphia in 1959.
