Driven by a flywheel, hand operated. A bevel gear wheel on the flywheel spindle engages with a similar gear wheel on the vertical drill chuck. The drill was fastened by means of a horizontal bracket to a vertical post. Diameter of flywheel 3 feet 3 inches. Made by Griffiths, blacksmith, Gwyddgrug, Pencader, Carmarthenshire.
