Tabby-woven, red flannel petticoat. With black petersham waistband, copper alloy zip held by red cotton twill tape and hook and eye fastening at upper centre back. Roughly stitched patch of glazed black cotton near proper left hip. Skirt consists of four pieces of fabric joined with vertical seams. There are four darts that serve to narrow the skirt and feed it into the waistband (two to the PR side of the zip, one immediately to the PL of the zip and one in the centre front). The skirt is made with a combination of machine and hand stitches.
