Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
Police officer's helmet issued by South Wales Constabulary. The helmet is of a coxcomb design, and of a type introduced in South Wales in 1984. Manufactured by Christys of Stockport.
The helmet plate consists of a crown surmounting a star design, surrounding the inscription SOUTH WALES CONSTABULARY, which in turn surrounds the Prince of Wales feathers with the motto ICH DIEN. There is a metal fitting on the coxcomb, and a metal band below the plate with circular floral symbols.
