5" gauge model of a Barker & Lovering coal wagon. Wooden coal wagon with black metal features and white inscription with coal load and on wood and metal track.
There were three hundred of these wagons, all built in the twenties and base numbered from 101 upwards. Used to move coal from the pits to the works and yards all over the country. All Barker and Lovering wagons were labelled 'return empty to Cinderford Junction' because the firm had an agency for the Forest of Dean Collieries and this was where the wagons were needed. Larger repairs were dealt with at Waterloo Wharf, Newport and minor repairs at Lydney.
