Figure of Lord Nelson flanked by two sailers, white earthenware with a crackle glaze, extensive black firing spots on right edge of figure group and on plinth, spots less dense on figures. Figures standing on an egg shaped plinth inscribed in gilt script. Yellow/brown painted base, central figure of Nelson part reclining, with legs crossed at knee, on a orange box and wearing black shoes, white stockings, pink knee breeches, underglaze blue coat, orange fringed epaulettes, and with grey hair, black hat by right foot, and resting left hand on left thigh, eyes shut. Nelson part supported on either side by a sailor, both sailors wearing black knee boots, white breeches, underglaze blue coats outlined with worn gilding, black cocked hats, sailor on left supporting Nelson with his right arm, left hand on hip, sailor on right has a small moustache and rests right hand on Nelson's head, left arm on hip.
