Standing cup and cover, silver gilt, domed foot with large bulbous knop, the baluster stem with rounded knop, three scrolls and cup-shaped top into which screws the tall spool-shaped bowl, the rim of the bowl slightly everted, the cover domed with an elaborate baluster finial surmounted by a figure of Athene/Minerva standing on a canopy-like base; the foot embossed and chased with a wreath and fruit in strapwork cartouches, the knop of the stem decorated with cast ram's heads and fruit, the bowl embossed and chased with elaborate strapwork enclosing (from bottom to top) shells and fruit, three masks (a bearded man, a woman with diadem, a boy) and flowers, sea monsters and swans, the cover with stamped acanthus leaves round the rim and chased and embossed strapwork with fruit and three sea monsters.
