S.S. FEDERAL TRADER (2875gt). "Scandinavian-type" cargo ship built 1943 as LANDSDOWNE PARK by Davie Shipbuilding, Lauzon (engine by Dominion Engineering Works, Montreal), managed by Park S.S. Co., Montreal. 1947 – Sold to Federal Commerce & Nav. Co., Montreal, and renamed FEDERAL TRADER. 1951 – Sold to Provincial Steamships Ltd., St Johns, Newfoundland and renamed PROVINCIAL TRADER. 1951 – Sold to Allied Steamship Lines, Montreal, and renamed GANDER BAY. 1953 – Transferred to Montrose Shipping Co., Montreal (same name). 1955 – Sold to Corteleones Cia Nav., Monrovia and renamed ATLAWILL. 1958 – Sold to Plymouth Navigation Co., Monrovia and renamed CARIBBEAN TRADER. She becamed stranded on Alacran Reef, Mexico, while en route from Coatzacoalcos to Tampa.
