Ceramic costume doll from Switzerland
Ceramic doll with brown glass eyes and 5 inserted teeth. Long blond hair tied back in a plait with blue ribbon. Solid shoulders and stuffed body with ceramic forearms and separate stuffed legs. Missing one brown "leather" shoe with paper buckle detail. Wearing a yellow dress with pink ribbon decoration and a green hem. Underneath is a red & white striped top with blue ribbon decoration and white cotton sleeves. Over the dress is an apron tied around the waist, with a flower pattern in pink, blue, green, purples and browns. Around the neck there is a white square collar with pink polka dots and a lace hem. There is a gold thread tied around the proper right wrist which reads "A girl from Unterwalden" on one side and "A girl from Lucerne" on the other. Seperate, a wide brimmed straw hat with blue threaded ribbon and green and pink ribbon floretts.
