Silver gilt casket presented to the Dowager Viscountess Rhondda on 12 December 1918 by the Burgesses of Merthyr Tydfil containing parchment scroll dated 10 January 1907 admitting David Alfred Thomas (later 1st Viscount Rhondda) as an Honorary Freeman of the Borough.
