Jar and cover
Jar in brown salt-glazed stoneware, grey body with some grit inclusions, flat base with bevelled edge, inverted pear-shaped body with wide shoulder, short flaring neck and plain rim that is angular where it meets the neck to form a ridge; tooled horiztonal bands at mid-body and beneath shoulder, covered in a salt glaze, graduating from dark brown at the rim to a paler buff towards the base, a circular patch of glassy green glaze at foot.
