Coconut with silver-gilt mounts comprising a domed foot with horizontal foot rim, a tapering stem surmounted by a spindle-like section with projecting lower rim, this connected to the calyx, the nut itself held between the calyx and the concave lip band by three vertical straps hinged at the top and bottom; the foot rim decorated with die-struck ovolos, the foot chased with scrolling foliage, the stem chased with elongated ovolos with matted borders, the calyx crudely engraved with acanthus leaves, the straps die-struck with guilloches, the lower part of the lip band engraved with crude down-pointing leaves, its waist bound by an applied horizontally reeded band, its upper section engraved with scrolling foliage incorporating thistles, acorns, rosehips(?) and a blank shield (the arms removed).
