Chestnut urn, tin-plate, ovoid body standing on a short stem and oval base, to either end of the body twin solid outcurving foliate-moulding handles in lead, oval high domed cover with a brass ball finial on a lead mount; the interior of the urn and underside of the cover covered with a gold-cream coloured enamel, the exterior covered all over with a black japan and decorated in gilt and cream with sprays of flowers and leaves to the body, base and sides of the cover.
