Early Medieval human remains

These are the remains of a younger middle adult (25-35) on ambiguous gender. The bones are in a moderate state of conservation with 75% completeness.

They are from Burial Phase E: 606-873 AD

They were buried in an extended supine simple grave oriented West-East.

Their bones exhibited numerous conditions; Interesting wear on the UC and LPM1. Cribra Orbitala which appears as areas of porous sieve like bones in the skull and is caused by periods of childhood trauma ranging from stress from injuries and infections to malnutrition. Pereostitis which appears as striation or a porus bone layer and is caused by inflamations as a result of localised trauma or infectious disease. Rhomboid fossa, which is a depression in the cranium.
