Teapot, white smear-glazed stoneware, shaped oval form with straight sides, concave shoulder and raised gallery, curving spout with to either side two panels of vertical foliage moulded in relief, square-shouldered loop handle with a raised thumb-spur, hinged oval domed cover with to the top a finial modelled in the form of a reflexed flower; decorated in relief with an acanthus border around the lower body and further borders of acanthus leaves interspersed with blue-bell like forms around the shoulder and the sides of the cover, the gallery made up of a pattern of interlocking circles enclosing daisies, to either side of the body of the teapot a central pattern moulded with a classical scene flanked by panels of vertical foliage, the teapot also decorated with raised red-brown enamel lines.
