Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
Obverse. The King seated crowned on a throne with shell-shaped back and circular baldachino supported by slender columns, its side curtains looped up in large bunches. Side panels bear scroll work, and on each arm piece a lion. The monarch holds with his left hand an orb and cross; with his right hand a sceptre flory. On either side of his head are the initials: E. R., above each a cherub’s head and wings. On either side of the throne, a shield: quarterly, FRANCE (Modern) and ENGLAND, encircled by the Garter bearing its motto, and ensigned with a royal crown. The legend is not very clear
