North Sands type vessel built April 1943 by Victoria Machinery Depot Co., Victoria, Canada, for the Canadian government, and managed by George Nesbit & Co., Glasgow, for MoWT. 1946 - Transferred to Ministry of Transport, and managed by Oakdene Shipping Co. 1948 - Sold by the Canadian government to P & T Steamship Co. and renamed PANTROOPER, managed by Papachristidis Co., Montreal. 1950 - Renamed ROYAL WILLIAM. (same owner). 1954 - Sold to Asimarfield Shipping Corp., Monrovia (name retained). 1956 - Sold to L’Italica di Navigazione, Genoa, and renamed APPULO. She was broken up at Vado Ligure, Italy in 1962.
