Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
Bowl, stone-paste, standing on a high, waisted foot rim, cushion-moulded style sides, rising steeply and flaring toward lip rim; the whole, with the exception of the base and parts of the foot rim, covered with a creamy-white tin-glaze, painted with enamels in the centre with a camel in black outline with a turquoise body and blue harness and seat, surmounted by a bird and surrounded by blue and iron red dotted sprigs, all within a geometric border of blue cross-hatching and red and turquoise dots and circles; the sides painted with a continuous band of camels in blue, red and turquoise interspersed with the blue and red dotted sprigs and with one male figure, wearing a turquoise tunic with blue head-wear and legs; surmounted by a panelled border containing arabic script, surmounted in turn by red dots and a turquoise glaze wash; the exterior sides with a band of arabic script, loosely painted in brown between two thin red bands.
