Roman samian bowl
A samian bowl sherd of form Dr37. East Gaulish Very thick, pink ware with the remains of an orange/red gloss. Very coarse and unclear moulding. The design consists of a large panel cut into quadrants diagonally by lines, now plain but probably originally corded or segmented.In the quadrants there are traces of very blurred motifs - possibly a helmet and a cockerel.
Dr 37 is a hemispherical decorated bowl
