Using the Library

Please read the following guidelines to get the most from your visit.

Visitors must book an appointment and request material in advance. Much of the collection is stored off site, and therefore inaccessible during your visit. Our catalogue is not currently available online, please contact Library staff directly for advice on whether we hold material relevant to your research.

National Museum Cardiff

The Library is available to visitors from 10.00am till 12.30pm, and 2.00pm till 4.30pm, on Tuesdays and Thursdays only.

St Fagans National Museum of History

The Library is available to visitors by appointment only.

National Waterfront Museum, Swansea

The Library is available to visitors from 10.30am till 1.00pm, and 2.00pm till 4.30pm, Monday to Friday.

Our collections are reference only. Photocopying can be provided at a charge, but personal copying on a digital device is permitted provided no flash is used and the standard copyright regulations are observed. Please speak to the librarians if you are unsure.

We also provide a remote reference service, please contact us directly to discuss your query.
