Meet the Mill Worker

🔍 Discover and Explore

Step back in time and meet Nansi, a worker at Cambrian Mills, and discover what life was like in the Mill and for families in rural Wales. Through an interactive session, pupils will explore traditional washday activities, historic objects and the daily routines that shaped life before modern conveniences.

✏️ Take Part

Pupils will also enjoy a guided tour and learn about life and work in a traditional woollen mill, watch the Museum’s historic machinery in action by the skilled craftspeople and discover how wool is transformed from fleece to fabric.

ℹ️ About This Session

The museum staff are flexible and will do their best to accommodate to learners ages and needs. Length of sessions can vary. If you would like to complete a craft activity instead of a tour, please discuss with museum staff when booking.

School visits are available Tuesday – Friday, during opening hours. (Closed on Mondays)

  • Cynefin: Encourage opportunities for learners to discover the woollen industry and be inspired to investigate more about their own community and beyond.
