The Garfield Weston Foundation, a family-founded, charitable grant-making foundation, which supports a wide range of causes across the UK has given a major grant to St Fagans National Museum of History in Wales to create a brand new Centre for Learning. 

Chillax! St Fagans Food Festival returns...with new wellness area!

Visitors to St Fagans Food Festival can take time out for some well needed relaxation at this year’s festival with a new wellness area on site. As well as tasting the finest Welsh foods and drinks in the unique open-air setting, visitors can enjoy yoga sessions, aromatherapy and find out more about nutrition in sessions in the new main entrance building. The food festival takes place at St Fagans National History Museum over the weekend of 9  & 10 September 2017, 10am-5pm and entry is free.

Amgueddfa Cymru – National Museum Wales appoints craftsman to create the Chair for the National Eisteddfod Cardiff 2018

Amgueddfa Cymru – National Museum Wales has appointed a craftsman to create the Chair for the National Eisteddfod in Cardiff. The Chair for the 2018 Eisteddfod is sponsored by St Fagans National Museum of History to celebrate the Museum’s 70th birthday. Chris Williams from Pentre, Rhondda, will have the honour of designing and building the Chair. Chris is a sculptor who works mainly with wood, and his work is inspired by both terrestrial and astronomical landscapes.

Telling the Story of Anglesey at the National Eisteddfod

Once again visitors to the National Eisteddfod will be given the opportunity to visit  Y Lle Hanes (The History Place) - a space that celebrates the unique history and heritage of the Eisteddfod’s locality.


This year's Y Lle Hanes is a partnership between Amgueddfa Cymru – National Museum Wales, the National Library of Wales, Cadw, the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales, People's Collection Wales, Oriel Môn and Gwynedd Archaeological Trust.
